X-WR-CALDESC:Thank you to everyone who attended and supported our 3rd Annua
 l Sprout Film Festival at The Empress Theatre!  We all had a great time at
  this beautiful art deco venue that is located in downtown Vallejo. The do
 ors opened at 2 pm so our guests had plenty of time to browse and bid on o
 ur awesome silent auction items\, purchase popcorn\, soda\, and candy\, an
 d select their seats.  \n\nThe 14 short films we selected started at 3 pm.
   They included music videos\, poetry\, documentaries\, animation\, and na
 rrative fiction. Feedback on the films was very positive\, though the two 
 films 'I am Ziggy' and 'Fighter' proved to be a bit controversial. Not eve
 ryone was comfortable with them. Halfway through our screening\, we had an
  extended intermission so folks could check and finalize their silent auct
 ion bids and refill their popcorn.  \n\nSupport for this event directly im
 pacts our participants' qualify of life.  Our most vital resource in provi
 ding quality services to our consumers is our staff.  Most of our funding 
 is from the state and federal governments\;  however\, it hardly provides 
 a living wage for our direct support staff\, much less what they actually 
 deserve for the contributions they make to our consumers’ lives. Ticket pu
 rchases and silent auction proceeds help keep consistent\, stable\, and qu
 ality staffing in our programs. It also enables us to provide significant 
 enrichments to our programs\, like our Art@Arc program\, literacy\, and fi
 eld trips to places like the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco and Major 
 League Baseball games.  We can purchase new and exciting curriculums for t
 eaching ADLs\, Spanish classes\, and healthy relationships.  We can stay u
 p-to-date with technology needs and provide staff with Chromebooks and Zoo
 m accounts and consumers with tablets and hotspots.\n\nWe will see you aga
 in at the 2022 Sprout Film Festival!
