The Magic and Mystery of The North Pole
The North Pole is thought of as a magical place by people, especially by children. It's located at the geographic apex of the Earth. As children, we're told that a magical, older man resides there with his wife, staff of elves & reindeer. His name is Santa Claus, a mysterious being whose job is to bring toys to believing young ones. Meanwhile, his wife, Mrs. Claus, helps around the workshop, bakes cookies for her husband's employees & helps care for all of the reindeer. The North Pole itself is approximately 65 million years old. It's quite cold there, being -40 degrees! St. Nick limits his gift-giving to a single night a year, Christmas Eve, due to the high demand for toys.
Though Santa Claus is the number one well-known person who lives in the North Pole, another person resides there, too- Jack Frost, who personifies frost, ice, snow, & winter. It's origins are though to be in Norse or Viking mythology.
