Stacey Martinez
Stacey began working in the I/DD field as a Respite Care Provider in 1998. Over six years, she provided respite to over 75 clients with a wide variety of developmental disabilities. In 2004, Stacey became a Service Coordinator at Bay Respite Care and matched families with new respite workers. In 2006, she assisted with the development of and then managed a respite program that provided services in five counties to over 800 families and employed over 500 Respite Care Providers. Bay Respite Care shared a building with The Arc-Solano from 2000-2012, so she got to know both Arc-Solano staff and consumers during this time.
Stacey first joined the Arc-Solano as a Board Member in 2013. After earning her Master’s degree in Nonprofit Administration from the University of San Francisco, she made the move from Board Member to staff member in November 2014 as the Director of Services. In this position, Stacey provided support to all our service programs and directly supervised our newest core program, Tailored Day Service.
As part of The Arc-Solano's succession plan, in 2016 Stacey became the Associate Executive Director to learn the agency inside and out. Mike Huckins retired at the end of February 2020 and Stacey's first day as the new ED was February 29, 2020.
Stacey takes to heart her role of representing The Arc-Solano in the community. She was part of the Year 10 cohort (2017) in Leadership Vallejo and she frequently participates in Vallejo Chamber of Commerce events. She also spent 6 years as a voting member of North Bay Regional Center's Vendor Advisory Committee, and from 2022 - 2024, Stacey served as co-chair of the Committee. Stacey loves being a member of Soroptimist International of Vallejo and enjoyed serving 2 years as Secretary and 2 years as President of the Cave Language Academy PTA. She lives in Vallejo with her partner, Alex, and their daughter, Sofia.
