HAVING FUN!

What We've Been Up To

DECEMBER 2020

Our staff members made customized Christmas stockings for our consumers and hand delivered them.

Mike and Joey also sang Christmas carols. Seasonal spirit and kindness! Yay!

NOVEMBER 2020

As part of our Independent Living Skills program, we have the "Kitchen Club," which teaches cooking skills to our participants who live independently.
Since the holidays are upon us, Jamie taught how to prepare a holiday ham meal. It looks delicious and like it was a lot of fun to prepare!

And part of teaching a person to cook is teaching them to clean as they go.
Yay! You are both awesome!
Learning skills like these is really important in enhancing the quality of life for everyone.

One of our TDS Instructors provided in-person services during the Pandemic at Abby's house. Abby's mom made a work area in the garage to be safer from Covid19. They worked on literacy and made that beautiful bracelet together.

It's all about quality of life and moving forward!

This year, The Arc employees made personalized Thanksgiving cards for their clients to wish them a happy holiday and to let them know how valued they are. Yolanda hand drew the outlined images, and staff colored and wrote messages to participants they serve.

We are truly thankful for our participants and for being able to contribute to the quality of their lives.

OCTOBER 2020

We continue to care for our clients, both in person (for clients in the TS and ILS programs) and remotely.

This year, we had a Zoom Halloween party! Yay! Everyone had fun, learned more computer skills, and was able to connect with their peers.

AUGUST 2020

During the Pandemic, we are still improving the quality of life of those we serve, observing social distancing and precautions.

We spent time harvesting and planting our garden box at St. Vinnie's Community Garden in Vallejo. We also volunteered helping others with their garden boxes and by pruning roses.

Of course, it was followed by eating a healthy and delicious meal made from items from our harvest!

Ooooh.... lemon cucumbers! Mmmmmm....

FEBRUARY 2020

These consumers are playing games within the "Choices" feature of our Day Program, ACT, which allows each client to select which activities to do.

We had a fun and educational outing to the Rosie The Riveter Museum and the slab board factory!

WE CAN DO IT!

Elisa was the Queen at the GVRD's Mardis Gras celebration. Royalty is very becoming on you, Elisa!

Well, it was a bittersweet day....we had a farewell party for our Executive Director, Mike Huckins.
We all truly love him, and it is sad to see him go.

However, we also love Stacey Martinez, who is now our new Executive Director.

Visit us often, Mike!

Congratulations, Stacey! You'll be awesome! Because, you know... you already are.

JANUARY 2020

Luis R. from TDS volunteering at Vacaville Storehouse. He is packing groceries to be donated to the public.
Way to go, Luis!

This January, the TDS Kitchen Club learned how to prepare hors d'oeuvres for a Super Bowl party. Such delicious fun!
